Column Cheat Sheet
  • Material $/Unit = EA / LF / SF / TON etc.
  • Total Material = Qty × $/Unit
  • Unit Mh = labor hours per unit (e.g. duct LF or each RTU).
  • Total Mh = Qty × Unit Mh
  • Total Labor = Total Mh × Labor Rate
  • Line Total = Material + Labor

Overhead / Profit Math
  • Subtotal = sum of Line Totals
  • Overhead = Subtotal × Overhead %
  • Profit = (Subtotal + Overhead) × Profit %
  • Pre-Tax = Subtotal + Overhead + Profit
  • Tax = Pre-Tax × Tax %
  • Contract Price = Pre-Tax + Tax
HVAC Layout Tips
  • Group sections: Ductwork, Equipment, Controls, Piping, Insulation.
  • Use clear units: LF duct, EA device, SF insulation.
  • Add lines for startup / commissioning / crane time.
