1. Pre-Construction

  • Submit shop drawings, equipment submittals, and sequences early.
  • Coordinate chases, access, penetrations.
  • Order long-lead items like RTUs early.

2. Underground/Slab

  • Install condensate piping and sleeves before slab pour.
  • Coordinate with plumbing and electrical trenching.

3. Rough-In

  • Install ductwork, refrigerant piping, and hangers.
  • Top-down sequencing with MEP coordination.

4. Equipment Set

  • Crane/set large RTUs, AHUs, and fans.
  • Coordinate with electrical for power requirements.

5. Controls & Balancing

  • Install thermostats, actuators, and control wiring.
  • Review control sequence with GC and controls team.

6. Finish Phase

  • Install diffusers and grilles after ceiling grid.
  • Protect open duct from debris/damage.

7. Testing & Commissioning

  • Perform test and balance (TAB).
  • Commission system with owner rep and GC.
