Instructor Answer Key — Unlock After Review

1. Verify occupancy hazard, K-factor, spacing/obstruction rules, ceiling types, and deflector elevations.

2. Check density/area, remote area adjustments, hose allowances, and available vs. required water supply.

3. Wet for conditioned; dry for freezing; preaction for sensitive areas; deluge for special hazards.

4. Class I (fire dept.), II (occupant), III (both); valve locations at landings; roof outlets where required.

5. Pump size by demand curve; controller/ATS; test header flow; acceptance per NFPA 20/25/13.

6. Lateral/longitudinal bracing spacing; sway bracing; hanger load tables drive quantities/labor.

7. Flow/tamper monitored by FA; power from E; coordination with RTUs/ceilings/architectural soffits.

8. Service size by calc; BFP type; FDC location with fire access; PIV/OS&Y for isolation.

9. Measure mains/branches; count heads/fittings/valves; include hangers, bracing, drains/test connections.

10. Conflicts at beams/lights/ducts, concealed spaces, attic coverage; RFI log with marked sheets.
